Scicraft:About
About the software
SciCraft is an open source data analysis software developed in Python which allows you to access advanced mathematical functions through an easy-to-use graphical interface. Typical methods can be anything from areas like statistics, chemometrics and artificial intelligence and from languages like Matlab/Octave and R. More and more methods will be supported by SciCraft as different [wiki:SciCraftManual#Workflows workflows] which handles them are developed. Methods for new or special problems can also be created and shared.
SciCraft has recently been given a face lift and an interface adjustment, and the earlier interface is sometimes be referred to as OldSciCraft. OldSciCraft refers to versions up to 0.18, while SciCraft refers to 0.50 and beyond. To reflect the big change, SciCraft jumped versions from 0.18 directly to 0.50.
SciCraft is licensed under the GPL.
More information can be found at the main SciCraft site or at the main developer site wiki.
The research group behind SciCraft
SciCraft is developed in the Chemometrics and Bioinformatics Group (CBG) in the Department of Chemistry at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The SciCraft development is currently funded by NTNU. The project was originally funded by the national functional genomics (FUGE) initiative. Even though SciCraft is a general tool, CBG is in particular interested in providing powerful tools to the Norwegian bioinformatics and chemometrics communities.
